For sure a dirty hit from Orpik. Maataa made a rookie mistake though, not looking up before he put on the brakes...

Probably out for 2 games.

Even if orpik gets one game, and let's be honest, that's the most this joke of a league will do, it still isn't close to justice. Pens had to play 55 minutes with 5 defenders when it clearly should have been 5 and a game. Between that missed major and Wilson's, I have less than zero faith in these clowns dressed as referees.

Not sure how Maatta committed a rookie mistake... It was a full second later and he assumed that Orpik was far enough away... Either way it deserves to be 5 and I hope it's 3.

That was a great play when Orpik played for the Pens though. BTW we can read random tweets on Twitter. Cut and pasting them doesnt make an interesting blog.

So with maatta out and Schultz in, can we petition for DP to get on game in for lovejoy....

Pens are rolling, still need to tweak a few things like getting puck out of d zone and more of a controlled Nuetral zone break out.. As well as stop with the drop passes in neutral zone or d zone( looking at you geno!)

Quotes not working. For NH4442
I personally would like that, but would be shocked if they took Lovejoy out. It's a
hypothetical, but I'm convinced Pouliot would've played more min than Cole or Lovejoy last night with the 5D situation.

Go cry in your own blog. This hit is apples and oranges compared to the LE hit. I am sure that I what you are attempting to whine about. BTW, where did Boston finish in the draft lottery?

I'm just being a baby I know but how come no one gives the pens credit for being able to pretty much play any kind of game you want? All I've heard is the caps can win games 6-2 or 2-1 but I think the pens can do that as well.

He is jealous Orpik didn't play for Boston. Lucic and Marchand are probably his favorite players.

Great Hockey you say. It looks more like the Lions vs the gladiators. These officials should be ashamed of their work. It looks like they are a part of the Obama administration. Incompetent and totally clueless. The hack and wack that was going on was a joke. But that is what you pay big money for. Total incompetence and a total disregard of the rule book. The higher ups in this league are real dinosaurs. There in lies the problem. The game will never be anything but a lower level sport in the country.

Plays like that and to a lesser extent the Hickey hip to knee check need to be dealt with beyond severely to get that garbage out of the game. It should have no place.

Problem is they only base their suspensions and major penalties on if the player is injured. Since maatta is injured, orpik will definitely be suspended. If Sheary were injured, Wilson would have gotten a game or 2. Discipline the action, not the result

I really like the way the Penguins as an entire unit are swarming to the puck. It's not just a forecheck, it's whole-ice pressure. That's a really hard thing to generate offense against when you're the slower of the two teams, and that's why there's such a large shot disparity, not to mention the PK up until the fluky goal on the last one. Just too much speed and too much tenacity. If the Penguins' snipers heat up and start scoring goals, it would be awesome.

Pouliot will only see time in an emergency. Lovejoy has been just fine. In fact, given the circumstances last night I thought he played a great game. He's got a really nice mixed skillset, can do a lot of things and help in a variety of ways.
